Robyn R. Fenty (#2) (/ri’aen@Robyn Rihanna Fenty [2] (/ri'aen (listen), ree-AN -@;[3][4][n 1 was born on the 20th of February, 1988. She is a Barbadian performer, actress, and businesswoman. Rihanna was born in Saint Michael and grew up in Bridgetown, Barbados became an audition for Evan Rogers, an American record producer. He invited her to the United States to record demo tapes. She signed with Def Jam in 2005 and quickly became a household word with the release of her first two studio albums, Music of the Sun (2005), and A Girl Like Me (2006). Both were influenced Caribbean music and made it to the top ten on the US Billboard 200 charts. The third album of Rihanna, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) comprised elements of dance music and established her as a sex icon in the world of music. Rihanna's first Grammy Award was won for her smash single "Umbrella" which launched Rihanna into international fame. On her next studio albums Rated R (2009) and Loud (2010), Talk That Talk (2011) and Unapologetic (2012) she continued to blend R&B with pop and dance genres. The last album was the first time she reached Billboard 200 number 1. A string of chart-topping singles came out from the albums, including "Rude Boy", ("Only Girl in the World")", and "What's My Name?" ", "S&M","We Found Love, "Where Have You Been” and "Diamonds". Anti (2016) was her eighth studio album. It showcased her new artistic direction after she quit Def Jam. The album ranked second in the US and included "Work" which was her top charting single. In her career, Rihanna has collaborated with various artists like Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, and Shakira. Rihanna is the second most-sold female artist in the music industry having sold more than 250 million records sold globally. Rihanna has had number one and has 31 top ten hits in the US as well as a top ten in the UK with 30 entries. She has received nine Grammy Awards, thirteen American Music Awards (including Icon Award) and 12 Billboard Music Awards and six Guinness World Records. She was also awarded the NAACP's President's Award. Time listed her as among the top 100 most influential people around the globe in 2012 and 2018. Forbes included her in the top 10 celebrities with the highest earnings in 2012/2014. By 2022 she's the most wealthy female musician, with a net value of $1.4 billion. [5][6]
